A Windy Day In Villajoyosa ~ Alicanted

It seems like our adventures never end! This time we visited the joyful town of Villajoyosa! (Seriously, that's what it translates to). It was a stormy day (not planned). But hey, that adds to the charm of the video now. However, the problem was that it made filming a bit difficult since there was a lot of wind noise. That's hard to edit out. Even adjusting different settings for wind removal in the video editing software did not really do the trick (it was that bad). In the end, it didn't really matter, because we had a fantastic time in Villajoyosa! We walked all around the old part of the city, the city center itself, the beach, and we even visited the city's museum La Vila Joiosa (La Vila Museu).

This time the museum featured a special exhibition about the Moors and Christians festivals in Villjoyosa. That festival is held every July and is quite a spectacle in the region. We also had a look at the museum's permanent collection, which includes Roman artifacts from the region.

An empty beach... not a common sight in summer!

We walked along the beach boulevard, which is always an incredible experience! Even more so this time, because there wasn't hardly anyone there! Then again, we went early enough - so early that even the restaurants were still closed. (some of the cafes were open).

Then it was time to stroll around old town Villajoyosa. The winding, medieval streets in the town really make you feel tranquil, and it's almost like you take a step back in time. We actually filmed a good portion of the video around this area. We got some amazing footage!

Afterward, we visited some quaint shops in the center of the city. By the way, some (one-way) streets are blocked off to traffic. That's great if you want to walk around in peace and not have to worry about cars around you, but not so nice if you are a delivery driver for instance.
