This time we're exploring a magical place called Sella, a very small village tucked away high in the mountains of Alicante. Oddly enough, a place we've never been to until now. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In the distance, you can even see the sea on a clear day! We walked all the way to the 'Castillo de Santa Barbara', (not the one in Alicante, but Sella's Castillo shares the same name!), which was quite a climb up all those stairs... Certainly not for those with a fear of heights! Join us on our walk and get to experience what it's like to walk around the incredible village of Sella, Alicante!
Below are some more pictures of Sella on that gorgeous sunny day:
The Sella area is extremely mountainous, get ready for steep parts up and down...
The church is hidden, can you find it?

The barony of Polop is a true hidden gem - and a must-see for anyone who loves an authentic Spanish rustic village, tucked away high in the mountains. A village that's nearby a lot of other places we've been to and filmed, such as Callosa d'en Sarria, Guadalest, Calpe, Albir, Altea and La Nucia. Oddly enough we've never been to the barony of Polop, until now. In our YouTube video in Polop we walk to the top of the castle that overlooks all these places mentioned before. What an incredible sight! We also walk around the narrow cobblestone streets of Polop and take in the authentic Spanish feel of a charming village on the Costa Blanca.

Spectacular views of the coastline of Benidorm, while heading to the island of Benidorm (which is also called Peacock Island) is worth a video alone. We also filmed around Benidorm island, however, make sure there is no such thing as time tables and boats depart and arrive within a certain time span. We had to learn the hard way. Regardless, the video turned out pretty good all things considered! Take a look how our adventure went on YouTube!
The waters were calm that day, though the boat was still a bit rocky

Going to a nice second-hand market is always a great treat for us. What can make it better? Visiting an antique market with a GoPro in Benidorm! Join us as we walk through this unique market that has so much to offer! Pretty much anything antique or second-hand you can get at this market, from vinyl and cassette tapes to old lamps and coin collections. Watch our video on YouTube to experience it for yourself (we may or may not get lost a few times).

Happy New Year!!! We're back in Albir! This time we're heading more toward the town center since we've already filmed the beach area a lot of times. Join us on our walk and talk video through the streets of Albir. Who knows what we'll encounter this time on our adventure!
Even though we're mainly filming around the town of Albir, the boulevard by the beach still remains an incredible area to walk around!
In this episode, we're going back to Benidorm to visit the Christmas market and tapas alley, among other things. Yes, returning, because we filmed the Christmas market alreadythe week before. Due to a technical glitch (we had no audio in our clips!!!), we had to do it all over again during this special season! But that was ok, because what a fun day it turned out to be. This time we did return home with sound in our video (how about that!) We also brought along a special guest this time!
The Christmas market in Benidorm is always a delight to visit!
The Christmas market also has an ice rink, right by the city hall of Benidorm!

Benidorm Poniente (West), also had market stalls set up this time! We went!
Join us, as we show you around Benidorm in our last video before Christmas!

To get even more of the Christmas spirit, we decided to visit a Christmas market in a small, quaint Spanish village to show you what that's like. This time we made a short video of the Christmas market in Finestrat. Cozy market stalls with delicious authentic food, and handcrafted items in abundance! Join us on our walk through the Christmas market in Finestrat on this chilly afternoon!
The beautifully decorated Christmas tree stands tall in the middle of the Christmas market. Very original too! One side was gold, the other red!
The Christmas market was packed with amazing things, ranging from food to handcrafted ornaments!
For a small village like Finestrat, the Christmas market was quite large!
Artisanal foods! Without gluten, fats, or conservatives!

In these series, we're going on the hunt for THE Christmas Market in Alicante. The videos are split up in three different parts. Will we be successful in our quest? One of the goals of the video was to actually find the giant nativity scene in Alicante (the biggest one in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records). We should've done a bit more research before we went out, because we weren't able to find it this time (it's right by the city hall in case you were wondering, we found out later), but there's always the Christmas Markets in Alicante to film...
In part two, we continue our journey through Alicante. Is it finally here? Whatever the case is, we had a lot of fun and saw many things along the way.
The final of the series: part three! The conclusion of the series! Did it all go according to plan? Or were there some mishaps? Find out and join us on our Christmas market hunt in Alicante (2024).

It's been a while since we visited Calpe. In fact, the last time we were here was during the easter celebrations this year. This time, we also visited the Christmas market in Calpe. It's always an amazing experience to walk along the boulevard and go through the city center to see all the shops! We did two videos that day, one 'normal' video for the channel, and one walk and talk. This time it was extra special since we had our daughter with us, and I had to bleep out or edit out a lot of her commentary. Nevertheless, it was a very memorable day.
The coastal path of Calpe has some stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea
We took the coastal path in Calpe. When we stayed during the easter break, we walked along this path every single day to go to the town. You'd think we'd remember where exactly it was... Actually, it took us a while to find it again since it's pretty hidden. Also, we usually walked from our AirBnB to the city, not the other way around (we took a different road back). The reason for that was the treacherous walk there reminded us each time how much energy is needed to walk to the town. Calpe is very mountainous and hilly, so prepare yourself if you ever decide to visit.
Below are a few more shots from that day:

Carrer Nou is one of the 'main' streets in Finestrat that take you right to the town center
What a village! Of course we're talking about Finestrat (pueblo)! Truly an amazing place in Spain to walk around in. The municipality of Finestrat is actually quite large.

As you can see on the map above, the red area shows the boundaries of the municipality of Finestrat. In it are several areas as well, the pueblo (village), balcon de Finestrat and Cala de Finestrat for instance. This time we focus on the old village of Finestra. We walk from the town center through the cobblestone streets, up to the chapel. Breathtaking views await us, as we pan toward the village from the hilltop.
Finestrat pueblo, with Puig Campana towering over the village
The picture above was taken from one of the many viewpoints (miradores) Finestrat has to offer. We continue our journey to the castle and walk through some of the oldest parts of the village.
Carrer Fondo is one of the oldest streets of Finestrat
To show the contrast, we also walked around the newer parts of the village. Many modern colorful apartments, all with a sea view or mountain view!
